Rosie for Autograph Make Up Review

March 2, 2016

If you know me, you’ll know Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is my absolute dream woman, style idol and everything goalsShe always looks great and is just so effortlessly chic isn’t she? I have a few things from her M&S lingerie and nightwear range which I love, but when I heard she had created a make up line, the excitement was on a-whole-nother level. I instantly imagined dusty pink lipsticks, rose toned blush’s and subtle bronze shades, all of which I was delighted to discover when I went in store. Read on for my Rosie for Autograph make up review!

Rosie for Autograph Make Up Review

I had told myself that I was going to buy only 2 items as I’m supposed to be on a make up ban because I’m going to New York in…oh wait…11days!!! Anyway, I tried to whittle it down, I really did, but I came out with 5 items. Ooops/YUM!

I picked up the brow pencil in ‘Natural Brow 1’, eyeshadow palette in ‘I Feel Like A Million Dollars’, a lipstick in ‘Silk Cami’ and a lipstick in ‘Dolly Baby’, the miracle concealer in shade 1 and I also got a gold make up bag free because I bought 2 or more pieces which was a lovely little touch.

The lipsticks – Dolly Baby & Silk Cami

I have already planned which lipsticks I’m going to go back and buy (aka all of them) as I love these two so much already. The colours are shades I’ve not seen anywhere else and Dolly Baby is becoming my daily go-to-your-lips-but-better pink. Silk Cami is a browny/nudey/camel shade which I probably wouldn’t have normally gone for but it’s actually quite a nice subtle shade against my natural lip colour meaning it doesn’t look too dramatic. Love. Rosie for Autograph Make Up Review

The eyeshadow palette

This adorbs little quad is full of the colours I use day to day on my eyes. The peachy toned golds are perfect for a bronze smokey eye or I sometimes use the lightest shade just on it’s own. The little white highlight shade makes your inner corners pop and your brow bones glisten….yum. And as much as I’d love to take my Morphe 35W palette around with me, this little guy is the ideal size for your handbag.

The miracle concealer

I loved the concealer as soon as I swatched the tester onto my hand. It’s super creamy and satiny and I love the packaging and twist up mechanism. It’s a great under eye colour and for hiding any redness.

The brow pencil

The pencil in shade natural 1 is an amazing colour for my skin and hair colour. The thick spoolie just makes life that bit easier and who doesn’t love combing their brows to perfection? I’ve been using this every single day.

In case you hadn’t noticed, I loveee all of these products and can’t wait to get a few more bits from the collection. The price point is a good mid range between the high street and high end and the quality is definitely towards the high end so it’s worth what you pay!

In these pics I’m wearing all the above products (except Silk Cami because wearing two different coloured lipsticks at the same time would be silly!)

Get Better Skin for Winter With This Dream Product – Origins

November 11, 2015

I love winter, maybe more than summer? and I love everything that comes with it, EXCEPT dry skin.

If you’ve read previous beauty posts then you’ll know that I tend to get more dry skin which is just bloody annoying.

And the winter doesn’t help it probably because one minute you’re outside in the icy winds and the next you’re inside by a fire. Hmm.

So this year I thought I’d prepare myself and try and get better skin for winter. Earlier this year I discovered my now staple moisturiser which I’ve found has just helped my skin sooo much (and I’m hoping it will continue looking after my skin throughout winter) so when the weather started getting colder, I knew it was time to invest in another dry skin best pal.

And that’s when I came across this little dream.

better skin for winter

I was already an Origins lover, so when I read the reviews on this I knew I had to try it.

You apply it to clean skin last thing at night and although it’s called the Intensive Drink Up ‘Mask’ there’s no need to wash it off… you just wake up with skin as hydrated and soft as butter. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

I tried it when my skin started feeling just a little bit on the dry side and I woke up as good as new.
If you are going to try it, I would strongly recommend buying it from They almost always have discount codes and I bought an Origins concealer as well when I bought this and I got about 3 free Origins sample products with it so it’s well worth looking for deals on there.

Let me know if you do try it or have tried it previously. I’d love to hear if you like it as much as I do!

Beauty Favourites for Autumn/Winter

November 9, 2015

So as you may know, it was my birthday recently and I got a couple of rather great make up/beauty products that I’ve absolutely been loving sooo I thought I would share them with you in my Autumn/Winter beauty favourites!

Autumn/Winter Beauty Favourites

Jimmy Choo Perfume
My first beauty favourite is the Jimmy Choo perfume. It’s such a gorgeous scent and it’s one which you can actually smell on yourself when you’re wearing it, how rare is that!? You only need about 2 sprays of it as it’s strong and very long lasting. I would say it’s a sweet but mature smell. YUM.

Zoeva En Taupe Eyeshadow palette
My favourite eyeshadow colours are neutrals and taupes so this palette is my idea of heaven! I love the mixture of matte and shimmery shades and the lightest ones are perfect for highlighting. I’m excited to create a plum/cranberry eye with some of the darker shades. How bloody Autumnal!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade – Taupe
I can’t tell you how happy I am that I’ve finally tried this product out and I can’t recommend it enough. I ordered it in the shade ‘Taupe’ which I originally thought would be too light for my brows but when it arrived and I tried it, it was perfect so if you’re blonde this is a great shade to go for. I LOVE the gel texture and consistency, it’s long lasting and so defining. I’ve just been using it with a Real Techniques angled eyebrow brush which does the job ideally. #DreamBrows

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick – Glastonberry
I’ve been loving all things Charlotte Tilbury recently and as a birthday pressie I got her Matte Revolution lipstick in the colour Glastonberry. It’s the perfect shade to see you through Autumn and Winter and I can’t wait to wear it to about every occasion I have from now until early next year.

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon – Champagne Diamonds
The Colour Chameleon eyeshadow pencil is just the perfect amount of shimmer and sparkle and I’m looking forward to smothering it all over my face eyelids as things get more Christmassy! It’s super long lasting and will make blue eyes pop making you look like Elsa from Frozen (thank me later).

Dior Nude Foundation
I actually bought this on my way back from holiday in the Summer but it’s definitely coming into Winter with me. The coverage can be quite sheer but can also be built up which I love because it’s great for everyday when you want to wear a bit less make up, and it’s perfect for a night out when you want fuller coverage.

And that was me speaking way too enthusiastically about beauty products. Hope you enjoyed!

Wake up tired looking skin

September 7, 2015

So you’ve had a busy weekend – rushing around, seeing friends, eating and drinking what you like, maybe not bothering with your usual skin care routine (or using the devil that are make up wipes). Then it gets to Sunday morning and you realise your skin is really suffering. It’s dry and dull looking and you feel like you have actual proper wrinkles. Eurgh.

If this sounds like you and you want to fix it quick then try these steps to wake up tired looking skin.

If you were drinking more Prosecco than water over the weekend then you don’t need me to tell you that your skins not going to be feeling its best!
Get yourself a litre sized bottle so you can keep track of how much you’re drinking throughout the day and don’t abandon the bottle at weekends. Try to fill up your bottle at least twice throughout the day to get everything more hydrated asap. I really notice a difference in my skin when I’m drinking more so it’s really worth sticking with even if you do start off needing a wee every half hour (your body will get used to it!)

Indulge in cleansing
So it’s sunday night and your skin has been hating on you all day, your make up hasn’t sat right and you know it’s your busy, skin neglecting weekend that’s to blame. When you take your make up off (the right way this time) really indulge in making your skin clean. Work your favourite cleanser into your skin for longer than usual, make sure all that make up is properly off then rinse with a warm flannel. It will feel better already, heavenly.

LUSH Oatifix face mask
What’s more perfect than a face mask on a sunday night? If your skin is feeling dry, then the Lush Oatifix face mask is a real treat. It contains oats of course, vanilla, banana and loads of other yummy stuff that all smells incredible. It might be messy to apply but it also brightens and exfoliates giving you a fresh glow once you’ve washed it off. All the natural goodness of those ingredients will get your face feeling back to normal in no time!

The Body Shop Vitamin E moisturiser
I swear by this stuff as my everyday moisturiser and it’s an absolute life saver if you feel yourself going through a dry stage. It’s thick and silky and just a dream to apply to clean skin. And of course vitamin E is just what your skin needs if it’s dull and dry.

I hope these tips have helped you wake up tired looking skin, I love this routine when I’ve been a bit lazy with my skincare it make me feel revived and clean, ready for a productive week ahead!

Some Maaaagical Beauty Products I’m Loving ATM

January 15, 2015

1. Mini Kabuki Brush – H&M – £2.99

1. H&M Blush BrushThe first beauty product I’m loving at the moment is this little blusher brush by H&M. I just love it mainly because it’s really cute and SO soft. There’s actually not a lot to say about it but the size of the bristles fit perfectly into my blusher sooo I think that’s why I love it so much? I’m not sure but it is VERY soft if I hadn’t already mentioned that… and the rose gold detail is pretty. God I sound like such a girl.

2. Mascara with Argan Oil – Rimmel – £5.99

2. Argan MascaraI have a bit of an obsession with argan oil anyway (cos it makes your hair smell lush etc) and I’m really enjoying this mascara. Not only does it make your lashes long and curly but the thing I love about it is that when it comes to taking it off it’s not a pain in the A! You know when you just wanna free your eyeballs but you’ve got thick, black mascara on that takes ages to budge off and you end up swishing it all round your face with a cotton pad? Really annoying isn’t it. Well you don’t get that with this hoorah!

3. Eyebrow Palette – MUA – £3.50

3. MUA brow palletteMUA is just fantastic isn’t it? If you haven’t yet discovered it, it’s sold in Superdrug and it’s soooo cheap but also pretty good. Their eyeshadow palettes are incredible, I swear by them and their highlighter is also rather lovely. This eyebrow palette is nearly always sold out probably because it’s really good and only £3.50! I got the ‘fair-mid’ colour but they do a darker one. It’s made up of a lighter eyebrow powder, a darker one, a highlighter, an eyebrow gel, and angled brush AND some mini tweezers. So ideal, I don’t think I’ll ever use a different palette.

4. Concealer/Highlighter in No.1 – KIKO – £5.50

4. KIKO ConcealerIf you haven’t heard of KIKO you are missing out girrrrrl. I discovered it in Venice and didn’t realise it was in the UK. How delighted I was when I saw it in Westfield Stratford! This concealer was £5.50 and all their make up comes in nice little black boxes (bit like MAC but much cheaper, still just as good though). It looks quite pink but I love it because it goes on really light so it’s perfect for covering dark circles and if you’re into contouring it would be good for that too.

5. Lip Liner No.712- KIKO – £2.50

5. KIKO Lip linerThis KIKO lip liner was £2.50, yes £2.50! A whole £10 cheaper than the MAC ones and these are seriously good. The range of colours is perf and I love this rosey, Kylie Jenner esque colour.

6.  Lipstick No. 602 – KIKO – £6.90

6. KIKO lippyThis is the lipstick I wear with the lip liner just FYI and I loveee the two together. This is my go-to day time lip colour. The KIKO lipstick is matte and it’s really soft and quite moisturising, it also actually stays on your mouth for more than one sip of water so that’s always a bonus.

7. Lime Basil and Mandarin Cologne – Jo Malone – £82

7. Jo MaloneJo Malone is the goddess of all goddesses. Everything she creates smells out of this world. This perfume is fruity and woody and edible all at the same time. A definite fragrance staple!

8. Chunky necklace – Avenue Laura Boutique – £12

8. ALB NecklaceIMG_1423

I know it’s not really a beauty product but I’m so in love with this shop at the minute I had to include it. I got this necklace from a little boutique in Bishop’s Stortford called Avenue L Boutique. It really is a little cave of treasure in the form of chunky jewellery and clutch bags galore! I love these jewelled necklaces just to throw on with a plain jumper or top, and instead of spending £35-£40 in Accessorize, ALB have some amazing pieces for half the price and they’re mostly all different! If you don’t live near Bishop’s Stortford then that’s a shame… but take a look at their instagram anyway! – @avenuelboutique.

Hope you enjoyed my round up of things, let me know if you give any a try. PS I’m currently on the hunt for an amazing hair treatment, if anyone can recommend any please let me knowww!

Winter Skin Care Routine

November 12, 2014

It’s that time of year again when you dread taking off your pjs to get into the shower in the morning because it’s just so COLD, every inch of your body is now covered at work minus your hands and face because some strange people still want the air con on and the risk of getting pissed on by the rain increases every time you step out of your car. In fairness, we’ve done okay up until now, October was pretty delightful weather-wise and it’s only just becoming time to tuck the leather jacket away and bring out the coat/buy a new one (nawty). Anyway, one thing that does need a bit of extra care in the winter is your skin. The harsh, bitter winds love to dry it out and going to and from hot and cold temperatures can generally confuse your poor lil face. Here are a few tips to keep your skin looking lovelyyyy in general and espesh in winter.

  • BIN your make up wipes
If you’re still using make up wipes then whyyyy? They don’t actually clean your face, they wipe a bit of your make up off then just swish all the dirt around. Yum. They also dry out skin and contain some dodgy ingredients. To properly clean your face and get your make up off you’ll need warm water and a cleanser. Even just warm water and soap is better than wipes but buying cleansers is fun!
I’m completely in love with everything Kiehl’s does but the cleanser I’ve been using recently is the ‘Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash’ You only need about half a pump and it foams up like an absolute dream. Once you’ve rinsed your face will feel like the freshest, cleanest fizog in all the land.
  • Tone it up
Up until recently, I thought of using a toner as a bit pointless. I always thought it was a myth that it actually did anything positive for your skin but it does and the Kiehl’s ‘Cucumber Alcohol-Free Toner’ is delish. Although your face will already be as clean as a whis after cleansing, using the toner after just makes it extra, super clean and soft. Toning will close the pores too meaning you’re less likely to have a break out, praise the lord.
  • Don’t exfoliate
Contrary to popular belief, if you are prone to a break out, exfoliating will only break the skin and cause more of a spread. Instead, invest in a ‘peel’ which will ‘exfoliate’ the skin and get rid of dead skin cells without needing to scrub it. The Kiehl’s ‘Over Night Biological Peel’ is a good option and will help to reduce the appearance of pores too.
  • Protect ya pout
There is nothing worse than dry lips is there? They look grim and feel horrid yet they often get forgotten about during the winter. When it gets chilly carry a nourishing lip balm around with you. If you tend to suffer quite badly in the cold weather try the ‘Blistex MedPlus Repairing Lip Balm’. Or try ‘EOS’ lip balms, they come in some amazing flavours and look just like little dinosaur eggs.
  • Drink more
Water that is. Even though all you want when it’s freezing is a cuppa tea or coffee your skin will thank you if you drink more water.
  • Moisturise
Swap your light summer cream for a thicker, more nourishing moisturiser or even better, an oil. When your face is struggling with the weather it needs something to lock in the moisture and over night is the best time to do this. Yes I’m going to recommend a Kiehl’s one again, soz. Their ‘Midnight Recovery Concentrate’ will make you feel like you’ve just had a spa facial and the smell sends you to sleep feeling calm and tranquil. Oh and 99.8% of the ingredients are naturally derived. Dreamyyyyyy. If you want a slightly cheaper option, the Body Shop face ‘beautifying’ oils are also a real treat for the skin! I lalalalove the ‘Shea Beautifying Oil’ and you can put it on your hair and bod too.
What are the skin care rules you swear by? Lemme know in the comments below!

Taupe Lips

October 9, 2014

Despite her alleged lip surgery…(Did she? Didn’t she?) KylieJ’s lippy colour is doing wonders for her and is very Autumnal might I add.

A taupe/nude lip is ideal in any situation. It looks good as part of the ‘pretend-natural’ look (where you try really hard to look like you’re wearing barely any make up). It also looks perfect with winged liner or full on eyeballs of gold glitter. Sooo basically every girl’s go to make up looks.

Kylie Jenner – Taupe Lips

As you can see from this pic of KJ looking delish, it also goes with bluey/green hair, who can realistically pull that off?

My personal fave when it comes to a taupe lip has to be Maybelline’s ‘Tantalizing Taupe 725’ It smells lush and it’s a bargain too. What’s not to love.
